Hope Now partners with local churches and charities in the Cherkassy region.
Each organization offers opportunities for orphans and families to connect with their local community.
Christian leaders are active in the organizations we support and they bring the strength of community to the lives of the lost.
God wants us to live in community. He calls us to connect children to the Cherkassy community so they can build a relationship with Jesus.
Kompas Park Summer Camp
Kompas Park is a Christian summer camp facility located in the small village of Khreshchatyk, Ukraine.
This is a special place for both children and adults alike. Children are happy to be in a warm, comfortable environment with food, fellowship and fun with old and new friends. Ukrainian and overseas volunteers build bridges between campers and leaders to create a loving atmosphere. Campers are provided with many varied, interesting and fun activities. Kompas Park usually holds five or six camps every summer. Each camp has about 64 campers, both boys and girls of similar ages. It's a slice of heaven on earth!
Growing in love. Our chief aim should be to love our neighbor. Paul teaches that "love is the fulfillment of the law" (Rom. 13:10). Our goal is to understand not only the Bible, but also each other, so that we will know better how to love each other.
Sharing our experience. Our study leaders view themselves more as discussion facilitators than information providers. There should be a difference between preaching a sermon and leading a Bible study. Our small group studies give occasion for everyone to ask questions and offer insights.
Entering into communion. Group Scripture studies can do more to prepare us for heaven than most other things we do during the week. The group members commit to attend and actively and participate in the group every week.
Sophia Christian School
Vitali, Evelina and Sofia send their thanks for providing hot school lunches.
"Sophia" is the only Christian School in Cherkassy.
Many students of the school are from Christian foster homes with loving parents who want their children to receive a Christian education. Many families rely on school scholarships and donations to support their children's education. We partner with the school to provide hot lunches for children who can not afford them.
We also participate in a summer evangelism camp in conjunction with the staff at the school. Through games, crafts and lessons, we tell local children and Sophia students about the good news of the Gospel and give them the opportunity to worship Jesus freely in their city.
