Our History
Hope Now Ministries USA is a registered 501(c)3 organization that began ministry work in 1992 to serve the least, the lost and the last in Ukraine. Our founder, Rev. Vic Jackopson was invited to visit Ukraine after the fall of the Soviet Union and the subsequent independence of the country.
Vic discovered children living in dire poverty without food to eat, prisoners living in inhuman conditions and widows struggling to survive. Through this encounter, God called Vic to bring the love and joy of Jesus to the people of Cherkassy region, Ukraine.
Over the years, our team has worked to improve the quality of life for orphans living without families, brought faith to those in prisons and fed hungry people living on the edge of existence.
Our Focus
Today, we continue to support the work that Vic began with a focus on the lives of orphans, their families and the community in which they live.
- We share the Good News of Jesus Christ through service, teaching and love.
- We offer Christian summer camps to young people who would normally never know such an experience so that they might get to know Christ.
- We care for orphans through orphan sponsorships, monthly Bible Clubs and meeting their immediate needs.
- We build relationships with widowed mothers and other family members that struggle with poverty and addiction and who are unable to bring up their children.
- We foster a community with the most vulnerable youth who leave the orphanage to try and forge a life without support in the city.
Our Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16)
His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:26, 27, 30, 31, 34, 35, 37)
His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22)
His miracles (John 2:1-11, John 4:46-54, Luke 5:1-11, Matthew 9:27-31, Luke 7:11-17)
His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:25, Romans 4:25, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:10)
His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:9, Luke 24:36-40, John 20:26, John 21:1-2)
His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Luke 24:50-53, Acts 1:9, Acts 2:30-34, Ephesians 4:8-10, Hebrews 4:12)
His personal return in power and glory (John 14:1-4, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 11:26, 2 Thessalonians 2:19, James 5:7-9, Revelation 3:11, Revelation 22:12, Revelation 22:20)
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (John 3:3-8, Titus 3:5)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 14:17, Romans 5:1-5, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 John 3:24)
We believe upon personal faith in Christ, each person is baptized into the body of Christ, the Church Universal. (1 Corinthians 12:13)
We believe followers of Jesus should gather together to devote themselves to the teaching of the God’s Word, fellowship, worship, and prayer. (Acts 2:42-47)
